Enon Hall

The McKessons - Fall 1962 to Spring 1965

Phyllis McKesson writes:

"My husband, David, and I were enchanted to see the article in today's Richmond Times Dispatch on Enon Hall. We have spent the last 45 minutes looking at you website and reading almost every word. It really brings back the memories. David's father purchased Enon Hall in 1962, from the Dameron's and we lived there from the fall of 1962 until the spring of 1965. David farmed the 400 acres for his father, who lived in Amelia, Virginia and owned a Ford Dealership. Our two children - a boy and a girl - were very young when we lived there. Our son, the oldest, was six years old and attended White Stone elementary school.

"We look forward to seeing the further restoration of a home we loved dearly and enjoyed living in.

"Tell Gay we were delighted to see she saved the fig tree.

"Our whole family enjoyed many hours down on the dock crabbing.

"The dining room was our "great room" and the room between it and the carport was our kids playroom. Our kitchen was a little room added onto the back of the house."

Following are wonderful pictures that the McKessons scanned for us.
